I haven't posted drawings of boom tech in while so here have some. I have always had a somewhat dark fascination with whipit guns, often referred to as sawed-off shotguns. Logically they are very specialized firearms that have rather limited tactical flexibility and they can be quite a handful to use without a fair bit of practice. This class of firearm also is often associated with nefarious or criminal acts of violence and mayhem, even though they have been used by law enforcement for over a century. I guess some of their appeal is that their mere existence evokes a certain aura of danger and adventure. They are tools that are wielded by those who are often willing to live on edge where most of us choose not to tread.Related content

Cylde Barrow of Bonnie and Clyde fameΒ was a big fan of Whipit Guns.I think his was a Chopped Browning Automatic Rifle.

The Remington Model 11 was the same design manufactured by Remington is the US. Manufactured in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale it was known in 1904 simply as the Browning Automatic Shotgun. It was imported into the US. by the Browning Automatic Arms Co. and maybe as many as 5,000 made it into the country. However it fell victim to the Dingley Tariff Act of 1897 that imposed stiff import duties on finished firearms.
To circumvent the tariff act John Browning contracted Remington to manufacture his shotgun for the US. market. Remington marketed it here in states as the Model 11 until the late 1940s when it was discontinued. Browning Firearm Company continued manufacturing the now called Auto-5 until 1998. Although by then most of them were being manufactured in Japan by Miroku.

In my state the cost for a firearm like this would be the cost of the firearm itself, another $200 for an SBS tax stamp, and the cost of the proper tools to do the modifications.Β

I used to have this shotgun in real life. Always wanted to do something like this to it. Then again, I didn't want to end up in handcuffs for owning in illegally modified weapon.....
