I've recently gotten REALLY INTO Humongous Entertainment's Backyard Sports game series: it's supposed to be for kids, but some of the factors it takes into effect- like the fact that certain kids play better or worse if you choose OTHER kids on the same team, make it a lot of fun. Anyway, I desided to try doodling some of my favorite kids.This guy here is Pete Wheeler, A.K.A. Wheelie. Pete's dumb as a bag of rocks(In fact, whenever someone screws up, the other kids say they "Popped a wheelie", and Pete doesn't get it, cause "He's not a poppa."), but he's pretty strong, and one of the absolute fastest characters available. It's just that he lacks control, so when he kicks, or pitches, or passes or anything, chances are he'll miss his target more often then the others. He also says a lot of dumb things.(Like "What am I supposed to do again?" when he steps up at bat.)
I'm gonna draw Kenny Kawaguchi (sp?) next.

I heard that he the fastest runner of all backyard kids. I pick him out on baseball one ^^

His speed is pretty awesome. I loved that about him, but in the baseball game, I struck out with him a lot.

Well I prefer the Backyard Sports character designs from 1998 starting with Backyard Soccer to 2005-2006 ending with Backyard Baseball 2005. The new character designs are just plain awful.

Really cool. Those games are oddly addictive! My favorite character is Reese Worthington.

I tried that guy once in Baseball... Never hit a single ball with him, and gave up...
(Like his strike-out animation, though.)

Yeah- Humongous Entertainment has hit hard times I hear. They had to discontinue their Freddy Fish, Spy Fox, and Pajama Sam series.
I think Putt Putt is still around. And Backyard Sports has recently started catering to Gameboy Advanced with it's Basketball edition.

Oh, that's too bad. Sounds like what happened to SEGA when X-Box came out. They only make games now. I think they're doing good though. =/
