Like I was saying last night in a tumblr post.So and I were talking about stuff and this is an AU that needs to be brought back because fucking mermaids man. And it was a cool AU and maybe it can be a more serious thing now with angst and shit and musical numbers.
It looks like someone caught her mate after all.

I'm just gonna try to not think you are implying what you are implying pal.
Like you said, the mermaid AU idea is not new or original to the FMA fandom, and mermaids are public domain so I'm sure it has been done over and over again, and 2 years ago while goofing around with my friends on a LS, and talking about my OC's similarities to Ariel's from the little mermaid, a silly mermaid AU was born, and this picture was drawn bitter-cherry.deviantart.com/a… along with many others by other people who also drew their OCs as merfolk.
So that's the story of that.
And recently a friend and I simply got reminded and inspired to bring it back by some stuff on tumblr. So we did.

Read "Goddess of the Seas", it has "steamy scenes"..... It is a young adult romance, about a woman who ends up in a land where fantasy still thrives and falls in love with a merman, she was human but becomes a mermaid.

So apparently Ed found a hole.
Read a little about mermaid myths and turns out that one of them is that mermaids can shape-shift and well basically grow legs when they are taken out of the water (and many walk on land going around seducing humans and eating them, tho the evil ones are called sirens), so that's probably the best explanation I could come up with lol.
