Yeah I know it looks like every other ocean alien (tm) village. I’m working on it idk
Normally, Kixel would have virtually no dry land to work with and were pretty isolated to floating islands of mangrove-like forests. Everything would be able to be packed up easily and stored/moved in the case of a storm or their base moving. Settled communities were only located on actual islands, with everyone else being more or less nomadic.
This isn’t really necessary anymore, since they have easy access to advanced transportation technology and an entire continent of land now. However, due to their biological need to be near the ocean and social pressure to be near others of their kind/ avoid foreign conflicts, they have still concentrated on the coast. They will also further try and recreate their home environment by introducing their native plants and animals in the numerous and dense enclaves of their species. You can walk into one of their communities and basically be on another planet (even though you’re already on another planet)
