Don't see any difference compared to the current version. Imo, this theme is perfect the way it is andβ€”other than making it compatible with FF4β€”shouldn't be messed with.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but we're pushing the new design regardless.

We may include a Classic version to fallback on for those that prefer the original look over this one.

Looks great, but I prefer the blue colour scheme to the silver one. Do you have any plans on making blue, silver or black themes?

BoneyardBrew In reply to nzriki [2010-12-13 20:26:39 +0000 UTC]

Thanks.

When it comes time to actually create the theme I'm sure we can create the other color schemes without too much difficulty.

Is there a way to eliminate the left, right and bottom borders? I guess its a windows thing because Chrome in Linux is borderless, but in Windows has those borders (which I think are quite useless). Eliminating them would be wonderful as they give you more space. Although I guess as maximized apps don't have it anyway this can be tolerated for now.

BoneyardBrew In reply to rajadain [2010-11-18 04:05:22 +0000 UTC]

Unfortunately that's not possible in Windows, unless the actual Windows Visual Style is also borderless(hard to pull off, as it introduces bugs).

If I could have it that way I would, because I think the borders are just a waste of space and add bloat to the interface.

rajadain In reply to BoneyardBrew [2010-12-09 02:55:24 +0000 UTC]

Well, I decided to get as close to no borders as I could on Windows, and I found a way that is almost as good. In Windows 7, search for "metrics" from the Start Menu. In my system, the only result that pops up is "Change Windows colors and metrics", which is what we want. From that, select "Border Padding" from the drop down list and set "Size" to "0". Even though that doesn't completely eliminate the borders, and initially I kept thinking that the curves in the 4 corners of a windows are now squished, the whole set up has made my windows experience slicker and better.

Great theme nevertheless. I'm using the original TwentyTen with PaleMoon, and waiting for a Minimal update for Firfox 4b7. Will check out the visual styles you've mentioned elsewhere.

the urlbar can have more depth, it looks a bit too plain (I think it's mostly full css now?)

Thanks!

This theme will only support Firefox 4, as it relies on features not present in the current version.

It definitely does look much better.

Once this becomes a theme we do plan on moving it up like that.

looks great, the only thing I would do (I know this was already mentioned) is move the tabbar up to the titlebar to have more screen space, everything else looks great! keep up the good work

I love the minimalistic feel of it! It would be great if it had a blue color scheme matching the Office 2010 blue. Great work here.

BoneyardBrew In reply to 3rd-apex [2010-11-05 21:17:29 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!

The blue theme is a possibility in the future, but we're focusing on the default grey style for now.

KriLl3 [2010-11-05 01:19:30 +0000 UTC]

Maximized you could merge the title and tab bars though, no real point keeping a draggable area fullscreen, and I only use browsers fullscreen. That's what I do using userchrome tweaks, menu, tabs and window controls on the same bar.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BoneyardBrew In reply to KriLl3 [2010-11-05 20:56:52 +0000 UTC]

That's the way we currently have it set up.

silverwood99 [2010-11-05 01:08:16 +0000 UTC]

This Would be asking an awful lot, but do you think one could code the Menu to be like the Backstage function of the actual File Menus in Office 2010?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BoneyardBrew In reply to silverwood99 [2010-11-05 21:01:28 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure if that's possible, but I can tell you that the addon window will look exactly like the backstage area of Office once we finish it.

I have never made a Firefox theme before. Is it possible to incorporate the caption buttons on the same "line" as the tabs? That way there would only be two "lines"; the tabs line and address bar with controls.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BoneyardBrew In reply to Mulsivaas [2010-11-05 00:19:39 +0000 UTC]

That is possible, and we're probably going to push them up a little further into the title bar.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Mulsivaas In reply to BoneyardBrew [2010-11-05 00:34:15 +0000 UTC]

I love that you are working on this! Thank you so much!

I would love it to look just like the Office 2010 Suite. I want it to look like MS packaged it in the suite. That would be great.

You need the title (there is an addon to add it... but it would be awesome if it could be centered)
FF icon in titlebar with support for the buttons in titlebar addon. Make it look just like Office 2010
Work on border. It looks great by itself but it doesn't match Office 2010 perfectly.
Tabs need a more curvy bottom

These were in the old version as well as this version. Looks great though. This is the only theme I use. I love it!

Also, for the old version... popups looked funky.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BoneyardBrew In reply to twodayslate [2010-11-05 21:02:59 +0000 UTC]

We still have a lot of tweaking to do, as this version is still very early in it's development cycle.

Thank you for the suggestions, I'll see if we can take care of some of those for you.

We don't have any updates planned for the old version, as that would just take away time from the development of our newer themes.
