Its a compositing of 3 images taken at the same location within 45 Minutes. First was the sunset with a very weak aurora, barely visible. Second was 15 min later, the sunset disappeared, landscape got darker, but the aurora was very strong for about 20 sec. Third image was only forΒ the stars.
So, its a "extended" DRI.

I always love the aurora borealis, though it isn't frequntly seen where I live (Canada) the few times it shows up a year are great spectacles.
