Superb capture of a bird that isn't easy to get close to! The feather detail and colour are exceptional! Well done!

Thanks, Oreole. I think I got lucky with the exposure on his eye; probably because it was just enough light and no more. It was shifting, of course. When I screw a converter onto the back of the lens, it bottoms out at f/5.6, which is OK for a bird, but 1/197 sec. is a pretty slow shutter. The only real skill involved was giving the thrasher water when he needed it during last summer's drought. Thanks for the nice compliment & take care.

Love these birds...........we had 2 when living in California.
They both came back each year.
Good shot.

Thanks, Jenny. Good to hear from you, as always. California is a great place for birds and falling in love. Met Nana in San Francisco 36 years ago. We would go bird watching for adventure, in Bolinas Lagoon. God bless.

Drove to LA to see 4th granddaughter born, & spent time at the lagoon near where baby Maya now lives, fat and happy with mom and dad. Thank God for that.

Beautiful capture of a beautiful bird. I would say it remembered your kindness and returned to you. Did you turn on the sprinkler again?

Birds fly thousands of miles, and return to the same place each year, I would call that memory.
