It's a new year, and a new decade! I figured this was as good a time as any to switch things up with my little new years tradition. I was honestly getting a bit sick of sunset-on-water scenes... there's not much you can do with that environment! And it really had no meaning to me--it was a pretty cliche scene :/ I love the woods and mountainous areas so much more--it feels much more like 'home' to me.

I am actually really, really happy with how this piece turned out! I still have tons to learn, but I think it's a huge improvement and I'm glad I was able to do it. I was able to limit my color pallet a lot more, and I finally figured out atmospheric perspective so I think it looks a lot nicer than my past pieces, and it totally has some mood n atmosphere to it ;w; I was a bit worried, as I may have gone overboard with the layers and layers of watercolors, but it turned out okay in the end!

(As for the title, it mainly has to do with the fact that this year is going to involve a lot of moving around and 'uprooting' for me, as I go back and forth between college and wherever my family is--and that I'm preparing to go on a mission! So I'll be out of place quite a bit for the next few years.)
