Description
I'm always nervous about putting any of my own artwork on DA. I will admit to having a fairly fragile ego. This one is an update of my earlier painting 'The Cornishman' - which featured a 'County' locomotive. This one was done in about 2009 in acrylics (as opposed to oils in the earlier painting) and features No. 6800 Arlington Grange (a locomotive I knew well) climbing out of Truro station in Cornwall past the engine shed with a summer Saturday express. The usual 94XX banker is on the rear. A track worker with a scythe looks on.

I am not proud of this painting (although it hangs on our lounge wall and Mrs B likes it). I have since gone back to oils as I find acrylics too bright and 'in your face'. They need a lot of toning down. Well, here it is, warts and all.
