What's New
Unread Counts in Message Center Sidebar
The sidebar in the Message Center now displays an unread count next to each type of message to allow you to easily identify and sort your messages.
File and Edit Menus in Sta.sh
A couple weeks ago, we launched the File and Edit menus in Sta.sh to Beta Testers, making it easier to manage your Sta.sh . Today, we're rolling out the feature to everyone. These menus make it easier to organize your files, and adds the ability to import items directly into a new Writer document.
Download Sta.sh Stack as .ZIP (Beta Testers Only)
You can now download an entire Sta.sh stack all at once in an easy to access .ZIP file. Whether you're sharing images with friends or co-workers, collaborating on a piece, or if you simply want a quick and easy way to get to your files from a different location, it can now be done even faster and with one click of a button. The "Download All" button is located at the bottom of a Sta.sh stack.

General
- When searching, the "clear search" X button was cut off. Fixed by allixsenos
- The tab key behavior when writing comments became wonky again after being fixed in a previous Site Update. Re-Fixed by $helloandre
- Changed the title of the Message Center Note reply box to be "Reply" rather than "Send a Devious Note". Fixed by $allixsenos
- The Pencil Menu on comments of film deviations had been missing for a while. Fixed by $kemayo
- Comment previews did not work when comments were extremely long. Reported by *AspiredWriter , fixed by $shadowhand
- The "Next", "Prev", and "All" buttons while browsing had briefly lost their "pressed" state. Fixed by $adahacker
- The spacing was wrong on some Group Twitter widgets. Fixed by $mpsb
- The new user profile verification message had an alignment issue. Fixed by $shadowhand
- Linking to HTML anchors did not work in journals. Fixed by $shadowhand
- When using the "Submit to Group" modal on deviation pages and choosing "Type in a Group name", the autocomplete list was not returning groups that a user is an administrator of. Fixed by $ZombieCoder
- Some characters were causing errors on the Help Desk contact form. Fixed by $lendrick
- The "Browse Wishlist" menu item on profile pages was cut off for long usernames. Fixed by $shadowhand
- The Journal Widget on profile pages briefly lost their "Edit" button. Fixed by $helloandre
- Two identical print sizes were listed on a print page. Fixed by $lendrick
- Chat had usability problems with favorites bar. Fixed by shadowhand
- Canvas Prints on Print product pages were squished in some browsers. Fixed by $lendrick
Sta.sh
- Some video items in Sta.sh were not downloadable when they should have been. Fixed by $adahacker
- Clicking on the Sta.sh logo when viewing the settings page wouldn't do anything. Fixed by $adahacker
- Superbrowse keyboard navigation stopped working. Fixed by $adahacker
- Uploading was broken in Firefox 3.6. Fixed by $adahacker
- The "pressed" and "active" state of the "back" button lacked the icon. Fixed by $adahacker
- The "upload files" menu item available to Beta Testers did not work in IE9. Fixed by $aMoniker
Sta.sh Writer
- Removed an issue where the "paste" functionality would paste twice. Fixed by $Alisey
- Drafts are now called "Untitled Draft", and are renamed to just "Untitled" if they're published like that. Fixed by $Alisey
- Some literature thumbs were displaying with line breaks in unexpected places. Fixed by $Alisey

Bugs, issues, and feedback from previous Site Updates
Deviation Replies. This requested feature would allow artists to leave a deviation as a "reply" to a another deviation. For example, after using a stock photo, an artist could leave a "reply" to the deviation showing the photographer what they created using their stock photo. Artists could "reply" to tutorials with the art they created using the tutorial. Another use case for this feature would be the ability to collaborate; a photographer might upload a photo and ask others to retouch it. Artist could reply with their versions of the retouched photo. I don't see any problem apart form the fact that once you have read a message the number doesn't change. Not until you delete the message does it disappear from the notification bar.

Think we can do something like this for Group Messages and which Group they are for? As of right now, I have to check every Group to see if I have a Message from them until I find the right one, and when you run several, it gets quite irritating. Unless there is something I'm missing...

Same, same. I help run five Groups, two of them being RPs, three of them being fanclubs. It's pretty irritating seeing that I have a Group Message and then have to check each group individually by clicking on them to see which one it's from, and whether I have someone interested in one of the RPs or is submitting art to the fanclubs. >< And knowing when someone joins/leaves the group would be nice, too, it doesn't even notify at all...

I still want Comment Ratings and Art Rating, but I have another problem. Can you add the ability to disable comments on your profile page? People are getting sick and tired of seeing "Thanks for the watch" or "Thanks for the fav" in there comment. It would be a pleasure to have both of these features!

Please abolish the 100-word minimum for critiques. It's not fair. My friends and I are used to short critiques (as in one or two sentences), and I imagine that most people want the limit to be removed.

For some ideas for a new site update you should add:
-a recently deleted folder in you messages
-the ability to delete a comment instead of hiding it
-the ability to add a folder in a folder in your favourites to save space
-the ability to report an abusive artist instead of their art

Your friends list already does this, if you click on it (up in the top right corner) the people with a green bullet in front of their name are online. Red is offline, and an empty circle represents someone who has their activity hidden so that you can't tell if they're online or offline.

What does this even mean?
I would like a format that tells you right on hand whether a person is in the same mutual groups you are. /after too much scrolling through deviant's Group pages.

What it means is that it would take the artist types from the new Deviant ID widget and put them in your signature. So if you had your DA ID widget set to display as "Artist-Student-Digital ART" That little description would be added to your signature automatically.

I have found a bug with my group (which is rather annoying) and hope you could take care of it in the next update: Whenever people try to join my group they reply to me saying it won't let them join (I think either the button isn't there or they receive an error when joining). Thanks HQ.

Have you checked the group permissions in the manage members area? It may be that it's set not to allow join requests.

Those're terrific updates.
I would also like it if we can submit text in the form of Microsoft Word (.doc), OpenOffice Writer (.odt), and rich text format (.rtf).I think at would make putting up stories and written work on this website much easier.
Also I believe that it should be made possible to create sub-folders within folders in users' favorites. It would make organizing favorites so much easier.

When someone submits a picture into a group for approval, instead of just saying "1 group message" how about saying the group name and then say how many group messages you have. Like this:
"#Sonic-Love-Triangles has one group message."
I'm someone who's an admin for five groups (three out of five I'm a founder) and it gets quite annoying sometimes when you have to look through all of your groups message center to see which group someone submitted art to for approval.
Also for comments on group blogs, group pages and group polls to be a notification as well. I never get notified of them so I always end up seeing them about a couple of days later, which must be annoying to those whom just asked the group a question.

i'm still getting weird counts with my messages, they usually say that i have 1 or 2 less messages than I really have and sometimes i can't tell if I have a new message.

Also, with the buttons to scroll through comments or journals, you have the 1, the 2, the 3, and then there are ellipses. Should you click on those ellipses, it will ask you which page number you would like to go to. My problem with this is, how do I know how many pages there are?
Please add somewhere what the number of pages there are.
