Description
A tough little ship that packed plasma and particle weapons along with rail guns, the Olympus was intended to be a cheaper, more adaptable and quicker to build counterpart to the larger Artemis-class frigate. Rocketdyne's design even added Starfury-style magnetic manoeuvre fins to the engines to improve agility over the Artemis.
The Olympus entered service in 2227 and was first blooded in encounters with raiders. The design worked well in the Dilgar War, often using its extensive interceptor grid to provide screening for larger warships. Problems were encountered in the Earth-Minbari War as the ship's sensors were unable to target enemy ships. Post-war, damaged units were repaired and returned to service, and a new building programme instigated. There are even plans, as of 2270, to equip them with artificial gravity.

Originally appearing in In The Beginning, the Olympus is an adaptable and tough little bastard that was still in service as of 2267. Drawing such a relatively small ship in this scale was an absolute pain in the arse, I don't mind telling you...
