While I didn't like the first design, I still thought the movie would do ok at the least as I was still interested in the story. But then they redesigned Sonic and I really want to see the movie. I really really hope that this movie does well.

Im going to admit something. I did not like the design because of the uncanny valley...but they did the redesign well, it was better recieved, a better trailer, Carrey as Robotnik is looking good andΒ the bo office numbers benefited the hedgehog.
I was skeptical but i got prooved wrong. And this is the thing...expecting it to be bad and wanting it to be bad are different things but man, Sonic the hedgehog movie did earn my respects. I have yet to see it but i heard praises

Will admit,I was one of the people that didn't really like Sonic's movie design,but that was because I grew up with the design from the games.
Even then,the movie made him look TOO human,if they made him look more animalistic from the get go,I would've been completely neutral on the matter. Now,I just don't care,as long as they make it enjoyable and pleasing to watch,I'm fine with it.

Youβll always have my support, Sonic because I still love you despite all the stupid things Sega has done with you. And I didnβt think your movie design was that bad, a little uncanny but hey thatβs what happens with CG animation sometimes. And I know your design is getting fixed but all that matters to me is whether or not your movieβs story is good because if it is, then I gave forgive you looking weird and off. The most important part of any movie, animated or not, is the story.
