I was talking to my good friend at some point. It was a nice chat between two friends.

So, he asked me about how my headcanon version of Steven Universe would go. Specifically how I feel about the later half of then series.

When I binged it for writing inspiration for Of Magicals and Mortals, I was satisfied with how the show ended after all that time it aired(2013-2020 is how long it was). Well, fully was kind of exaggerating. The only thing I didn't like about the finale was that they reformed the Diamonds, who were basically planet destroying, child abusing dictators.

The only Diamonds I truly sympathize with was Pink Diamond because looking at her character development in order from a Youtube video.

So, I made this "What If?" because personally, I would've loved to have the other Diamonds destroyed, but in a way that would fit the tone of the show and still provide a heavy message that you can't always redeem someone no matter how hard you try. This is one of the reasons why I love Infinity Train's way of handling the message.

So, after Blue Diamond sacrifices herself to save Steven and co. on the cost of her getting shattered, Yellow Diamond getting killed by White for her insubordinate and White ultimately getting smashed by Steven after trying to convince her to change her way sonly for White to refuse and try to kill him and the gang. Steven does mourn for the Diamonds as he has never had to do that before, but is comforted by Grace, the Crystal Gems, Bismuth, Peridot and Lapis.

Before returning to Earth and giving up his crown, he gives the rulership of Homeworld to the three Pearls: Pink Pearl aka Volleyball, Yellow Pearl and Blue Pearl. This would not only liberate them from their roles as slaves to the Diamond Authority, but it would allow them to take control of their own stories and inspired by our Pearl, become stronger than they were before.

To celebrate their new leadership, I gave each of the Pearls a nice outfit that fit their personalities.

Pink Pearl/Volleyball is wearing a Chinese/Japanese styled outfit due to her being like the most graceful of the Pearls while also holding a dark secret that she doesn't want to talk about. More specifically shown in the episode where her eye being cracked being the result of standing in the way of Pink Diamond's temper tantrums comes to play. I also kind of inspired by Sariatu(Kubo and the Two String) and Chang'e(Over the Moon)

Yellow Pearl is wearing a Spartan like outfit because of her rough personality. She may not be a fighter, but she is one in the sense that she's kind of aggressive like Yellow Diamond was so it adds a little more to it. She is given a shield with the Diamond symbol on it.

Blue Pearl's outfit was inspired from the proper lady of the Victorian Era(1837-1901) because it would make sense for her character who is more of a proper lady.
