Photoshop & Intuos tablet, 2006.I just got the urge to draw a portrait of Death last night -- no idea why. Half-hour for the sketch, a couple of hours for the digital inks, and here we are...

Edit -- 2 hrs later, and ~musicalrapture's critique was right on. The original sketch didn't have the extra angularity in the left shoulder, and I didn't review it closely enough before posting it. Must have bulloxed it during inking and not realized it. I just shaved the angularity off slightly -- I still wanted the shapes rather than a perfect round shoulder, but it didn't look right. Thanks!

Hey thanks! You know, I thought about the expression a little because of just that -- she usually has this ironic, happy smile going on. I'm not sure why this is the expression that just came out, but I think if I do her again I'll probably see what different expression and body language I can work in to express that. Thanks for the input!

Very cool. But the left side of her shoulder seems a little wiry/angular. Great use of implied line, though.
