Description This picture was created on black paper using prisma color pencils and took approximately 30 hours to create.

It is inspired by the Native American Legend about the origin of the DreamCatcher said to have taken place a long time ago, when a young Native American Maiden was shown how a spider web was spun in a dream. She was then shown how to weave a web into the first DreamCatcher ever made. The maiden was told that this object would be a special way to catch bad dreams and to strengthen the connection between creation (Mother Earth) and the spirit world.

Legend also has it that all dreams are floating through the air during the night searching for their destination. While sleeping under a DreamCatcher placed near the head, bad dreams are confused and get caught up in the catcher’s web, the DreamCatcher holds until the next day. All bad dreams perish in the morning light of the new day. But the good dreams know the way through the web and can easily slip through the center hole. They slide down the feathers, taking on good energies from them. The good dreams can enter the wise dreamer’s head, bringing the absorbed energy with them.

Wow, I really like this picture. It's cool how everything around seems like a dream, almost like she caught it and held it there. Awesome shading and texture as well, :3
