I know pride month is over, but being late to the game has never stopped me! And it’s 20gayteen, pride is all year!
Here are my two main ace kids, Dominique (left image) and Ash (right image), both of whom I made when I was first coming to terms with myself.
- I made Dom to express the conflicted side of me that wanted romance and intimacy (hence why she’s with her girlfriend Morgan, repping the lipstick flag!),
- and I came to the realization that Ash represented my desire to be completely solitary when it came to romantic/sexual relationships (and also some of my gender dysphoria)
I thought the two would go well in a set like this, even if it’s slightly less ~vogue~ than my last pride piece (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

God this is just breathtaking and lovely.... you did such an amazing job with this piece. I'm so excited with how much art you've been doing lately you really really inspire me. This ace pride is making me so so happy. I love your Romaine Hearts babies so much and I'm so grateful that they're together. This piece is honestly so soft and I love the white of Dom's shirt blending in with the background.
Also ASH LOOKS SO INCREDIBLE? I'm so happy - her skin work is amazing and the way you coupled the trans flag and the ace flag together is incredible.

It's easier to say I'm heterosexual to non aces but my boyfriend is trans masc gendrflux. He says I'm gay so I'm gay ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ( as in pan ).

Right, I get the tags, but I'm not sure I'm getting the message being sent in the picture.
Like, a couple of women in the one panel--that could be lesbian, but I thought we were talking about style and while I understand the ace as a symbol of asexual, I doubt that's the only symbol I'm supposed to be picking up here. Is there a particular meaning to the horizontal stripes that I'm just clueless about?

There isn't supposed to be much of a message except "here are my characters who identify with this sexuality or gender identity"
I basically want my followers to feel represented
Among the different communities, many of the identities have their own flags outside the more well-known rainbow pride flag-- the horizontal stripes you see in this picture represent the different flags for the various identities.
Black, purple, grey and white rep Asexual
Blue, pink and white is Transgender
And the pink-to-white-to-magenta gradient is specifically the Lipstick Lesbian flag

Ah! Thank you! I do recall some time ago someone mentioning different flags for different groups, but I didn't commit them to memory. Clearly, I should do so so as to not be so ignorant in the future. The way you integrate those flags into your clothes here is, while not subtle, not entirely bold, either: I could wear this asexual shirt and a lot of my straight coworkers would probably go, "Cool shirt! Where'd you get it?" with no idea that it has the attached symbolism.
