I usually do use grids for sketching up my drawings. I experiment from time to time with freehand sketching (and my early drawings are made that way), I'm not saying I'm terrible, but I have to do a lot of corrections before I can actually start the drawing so I just like to save myself time with the use of grids

You're amazing to say the least - Have you ever drawn Daniel Day-Lewis? He's got such character now that he's older and more weathered - hence the brilliant casting in Lincoln - Your Benedict reminded me of a very young Daniel Day-Lewis. Love the Tom Hardy Pics - you really capture his spirit and besides the technical challenges, it's the most difficult thing to do in a portrait. Cheers!

it wasn't that terrible work as it seems. the coat in fact was a pretty easy and quick part, since it's just the same pattern everywhere. I had much more trouble doing the hair, but I enjoyed that too .
