It's been a long while since I've updated my gallery...I must confess, I've had a bit of too busy and too complicated times; I've been sick of people, I've been too addicted to my dreams, I've been a kind of terrible fool, anyway...
So one day I woke up with one song in my head, went to the empty kitchen and started painting this.
I thank my faithful comrades for the fact I've gone throught these stupid times, being sane. The song I'm quoting below was a kind of my hymne these days and gave the title for this painting...
Ich bin...
...nicht mehr dein Clown.

This is a truly wonderful piece of artwork! I love how the face behind the mask is much softer, more kind looking than the mask itself. The symbolism in here is wonderful.

I love your use of cool colors, and your inky lines that move my eyes around the peice. Also, the peice makes me think about the masks that people show the world.

the masks show so much depth and emotion in this piece its hard not to stare. Too many of us know what its like to hide behind a mask, to protect ourselves. The bitter sweet curse of substituting our souls for a shallow reflection of what it is to be normal, to be strong, to fight back the emotions that are "unexceptable" we find ourselves imprisoned.
If only people could see.

I've never been the kind to fake smiles, so I wouldnt be too familiar with the feeling, however, wanting to be alone (or perhaps not) in your dreamworld while everything seems to be trying to get you back to a bad time in the everyday gray, cold and boring "real" world, that is something I can comprehend.

It's always hard to perform and force smiles and optimism when all you really want is to get lost in your own world and be left to it's devices. I really like how the mask is more vibrant than the true face, it's very beautiful symbolism to me! I also really like the eye worked into the background, nice touch and very "missing puzzle piece"
