I have been meaning to create an aurora themed scene for a long time and, finally, the glacier images by 8moments inspired me to do it! The nebula looks simple enough but it is surprisingly difficult to make the clouds look decent and somewhat believable at the same time. I had to study a lot of the references to get it right eventually. However... I believe the ice shards are the true star of the show here.
I'm really happy with how they turned out and I hope you like them as much as I do.Credits:

I gotta agree the shards of ice are the thing I noticed first. I'm guessing they were made in 3D? (it's hard to get that "glassy" look any other way) either way they look pretty 3D

Nope, no 3D here. I actually cut out and modified some of the ice shards from the ground and placed them in the air. I'm surprised myself that it worked.
