Here's a wrap around book cover commission for Seja Majeed's novel, The Forgotten Tale of Larsa. The novel is an adventure, semi-historical fiction, for young adults with a babylon/assyrian theme.It is a story inspired by love though forgotten by history. In a conquest to be worshipped as a God, the almighty Assyrian Emperor Jaquzan, wages war against a Kingdom known only as the ‘Garden of the Gods.’ With the threat of war looming, Marmicus urges his love, Princess Larsa to seek refuge beyond her Kingdom's walls. As she makes her way, her Royal Caravan is captured by the enemy; everyone is slaughtered apart from the Princess who is taken as a slave to the Assyrian Emperor. The once naïve Princess soon discovers the true meaning of war and tyranny, when she battles to save herself and the Garden of the Gods from the burning fires of hell.
The pose was based off of this Iranian painting [link] . Of course, I was thrilled to take part in this - an elegant lady, epic story, blues and yellows, veils and veils, yes please <3

Unfortunately, after checking out the book on amazon, I don't think I'll get it - the story sounds wonderful (and right up my alley), but I didn't like the writing style enough... Shame! Still a beautiful cover, however.

By the way, I went to your link of the painting...while it was a very nice painting...I like yours better and its definitely more innocent as it does not possess the Knife which is a symbol of war(and many other things as well, but none of them being innocent), which sadly this land has known to much.

A beautiful piece of work...as so many Muslim women are beautiful but seldom seen. I enjoyed the full image, which is somewhat different from the usual facial treatments...but just as beautiful.
