oh gaaaawddd the layering and color blending, this is so smooth and pleasant. excellent work! how long did this take you, you think? i have been practicing my own digital painting and it already takes so much time building the groundwork.

Ugh, too long. I think I spent about a month on it? Not a solid month, but I'd give it a solid week in hours. Futzed with the gradient map a ton.
