Acrylics on 12" x 12" canvas.This is the first painting of any kind that I've done in about 11 years.

Damn dude... this is very nice work. I like the limited palate and forced perspective. An effective combination of homey and lonesome. You need to do more of these... but you'd be hard pushed to find any actual hills 'round here

Thanks for the encouragement, Charlie. You're right; I do need to paint more. Some stuff I imagine (like aforementioned hills) just can't be realized in photo.

Yuh, I can really see the similarity there. I'm a big fan of Andrew Wyeth as well... you're gonna wet yourself, but I actually met him in passing once in a gallery back San Diego way. If you don't know his work, I recommended you check out Wayne Thiebaud, not his cake-stuff, but the landscapes. Lot of forced perspective and the most amazing paint handling, like icing on a cake! ...I tried to find you a good link, but you're gonna have to google it.
