I got really into some of the Discworld novels other the last few years and more recently have been getting the the Sandman series and I just wanted to show some love for two of my favourite anthropomorphic personifications of death
why I love them:
Pratchett's Death - I love that while he retains the stereotypical skeleton with cloak and scythe look, his personality is neither that of villainy, evil or simply no speech at all. He is in fact a very inquisitive, interesting character who gets annoyed and frustrated but is also quite interested in life. He's got a great attitude, and seems to really care about humans, which is different
Gaiman's Death - really, how can you not like her? She a cute little goth gal, totally happy and upbeat most of the time, and although her job is taking lives, she doesn't really find it a difficult thing to do ever (at least as far as I have read!) I also love that while she is the personification of death, her symbol is an Ankh (ancient Egyptian symbol of life)

I think I love the interactions between Death and the Auditors the best. Because in the Auditors we actually get to see something of what Death would be like if he was more traditional.
I also like how the Auditors fulfil an "Eldritch Abomination" type of character, while at the same time being based around Order instead of Chaos.
