You can tell I hate doing backgrounds. BLOBBY MESS SHLFJDSKLJ And stripes. I fail at stripes. The fur shading and the stripes are a total mess.But yes, this is Precious, a neighbor's kitty. She came by to visit a while back, and I managed to get a few ref photos of her, so I could draw her. She just flopped right down on the sidewalk and sat there, and stared at us. XD She was a sweety. At first, I thought she was that cat that attacked Alex, but as she came into the yard, I knew by the markings that she wasn't the other cat.
I love her paws the most. She's got white fur between her toes. I find that cute for some reason.
Sketched with an HB mechanical pencil. Colored with Prismacolor colored pencils. Highlights done with white acrylic paint.

I don't think the background looks blobby.. it's really realistic holyshit, the details just suck me in. XD I love how you drew Precious, she's a really pretty cat and you're right..the paws are so cuuuute.
My skills are too low I guess, I can't see anything wrong with the fur. The shades and colours are nice though.

The pose is just flawless, the fur is gorgeous, I really love ginger cats. And what makes it better is the fact that it's female - female gingers are incredibly rare. Like male tortoise shells.
If that background is meant to suck...then I hates your talent for 'shit' backgrounds >.< I wish mine could actually compare to this.

Really? I never noticed that before! Now that you mention it, whenever I see a tabby like this, they are male. Like the one at the vet I go to, another one of our neighbors has a male, and my friend's cat is one, too. He's Cleo's brother. What an interesting bit of information!

Heheh, well my friend and her mum are cat freaks - and her gran used to have a female ginger which is when I found out they're really rare to get. Like most tortoise shell cats are female and there are very few males...dunno why but I find it quite cool ^^
So that's a special little kitty

Aaah white fur between toes are the cutest thing ever. My grandpa had a kat who had like gigantic pieces of fuzz between his toes, he had the thickest cutest paws ever, and he was so nice so I could squeeze them all I wanted without having him clawing me or something.
And as usual your realism is just freaking gorgeous. Whenever I try to draw a cat lying like that, it just looks like the leg is coming out from it's stomach XD;;

Omg I love that! XD Rocky's got a ton of fur between his toes, and I always have to sit and play with the fur ( and his paws ) when I see him. XD

No no no the background looks amazing and not sloppy!! Yeah for cute furry toes! Though somehow I feel it wouldn't be as cute if people had hair sprouting between each toe. XD
Aww this cat sitting here reminds me of the other day when I went into the backyard to find my dog. My mom was out there and we both asked where he was at the same time so I looked at one open gate but my mom said he didn't go that way. I was calling him and went to the other gate (which was also open) and saw him just standing staring out and he wouldn't respond when I called him so I jogged over to the gate to shut it and saw a black cat lounging on the grass a couple feet in front of him. It ran off when it saw me, but I was surprised my dog didn't bark at it or try to chase it.

OMG! Cute kitty! And I'm with yeah on that white fluff between the toes thing... That and green eyes. I find green eyes on any critter absolutely adorable, I don't know why...
Anyways, awesome work, I love the vibrant colors and you do awesome work on the stripes and anatomy and such! I know you don't want critique, but I can't help myself... from this one other comment. Background seems a little lacking in depth.

Yeah, backgrounds aren't really my strongpoint, and neither is perspective/foreshortening. Like I said before, I need some time to sit and practice. XD
