EDIT: Now has shadows! ^^ I like how the saddle turned out for some reason..

I gots reinspired to do some drawing again. I have been doodling in class like always but have had very little time with two jobs and college work to do any digital work/post anything. Anyway i have a class that is fantastic for drawing as there are no notes, no tests, and the teacher doesn't care if i have my sketchbook out and this is one product of such a class period.

Pretty proud of this piece only because i feelliek the anatomy is one of my best for having NO ref. The short back bothers me a bit.. still trying to figure out how to fix it smoothly. If you look at just the front or just the back half then i think it looks pretty great ^^ The one thing i am really unsure of is the tack.. since no ref was used the tack is from memory (and considering i haven't been around horses in roughly 3 years now and never competed at all it is a really rough memory lol) Soo.. if there is something just totally wacky that would be why lol

This will eventually be a pic of Archi; i have just started laying out base colors so far. I plan on making a background, shading it fairly deeply, and sprucing up the horses actual colors :3 Yeah no rider because i suck at them and feel it would ruin it so i just tied the reins up XD Hopefully it turns out well!

Time so far: Excluding sketch on paper ~roughly 5 hours? (not being terribly focused lol)
Tools: GIMP and Sai (for lines)
