I saw many gorgeous scenery on the drive back on highway 101 yesterday from Sacramento, and it was the first time I thought california plains were beautiful. the hills all glowed on the edges. I promised myself I had to paint it down before I forget!and with bison that aren't here anymore

You captured it perfectly to my mind. The soft evening pastels, the glow of the setting sun. I can feel the breeze and wish the bison were real.

Now I'm remembering cattle egrets too, with that soaring purity of white, white feathers; the grace of their flight; the elegant architecture of their outspread wings; and having to remember their diet of dung beetles and carrion bugs.

this reminds me of a place I saw out here near Tri Cities, WA - I was taking a tour of the LIGO facility and it was getting stormy out, but it was also near sunset! LIGO is built in a big stretch of flat, semiarid desert and it looked a bit like this. also sans buffalo, though

This moment you captured doesn't last long, it can be felt at dawn too, when things seem magical, but both the coming of the day and the night drive it away. Very cool
