Description An oil painting commission for a lady at my church, here shown in the mat she provided.

It's based on a drawing of Mary in the Pieta Prayer Book. It says in the book that it was drawn by an Italian mystic. I can't find out who this was or any other information about the image anywhere! Ah well, the image is very simple, but the features are, like, perfectly placed, and it was a challenge to fill out and make in color.

The lady was pleased.

What a beautiful painting! Even though it's oil painting the paint doesn't stick out like spikes or small walls at parts like how it usually does most of the time!

Thank you! I sometimes do it in spikes and walls like that (it's called impasto) but this one needed a soft look, so yeah.
