Description A New Engine:

With the workload getting bigger on the Ffarquhar branch-line, The Fat Controller manage to bring a tank engine from a heritage railway. The Fat Controller has the engine, Rosie, work alongside Toby, with him showing her how the branch-line is run, with Rosie being able to control the trucks easily. The engines begin to get impressed, though Thomas doesn’t fully trust her.

One day Rosie noticed Toby rushing down the line with the trucks pushing him. Acting quickly, Rosie follows behind them before managing to couple to the break van and brings the train to a stop before they can reach the mainline, almost colliding with James and his train. The Fat Controller, impressed with her work, believes that Rosie might have a bright future on the railway.

Mail and the Hill:

Percy normally brings returned and reply mail to Tidmouth for Henry. Though one night Percy is informed that Henry is delayed by a last minute goods train, and so he’ll need to take it. The Fat Controller has Rosie help double-head the long heavy train to Barrow-in-Furness, with the two tank engines setting out to the mainland.

The journey for them wasn’t too bad besides the cloudy night sky, though things begin to get tricky as they reach Gordon’s Hill. The train begins to drag the engines as they climb it, Rosie courages Percy to keep going, as they managed to bring train to the top of the hill, before managing to keep going onwards until they finally reached the Mainland and Barrow-in-Furness.

Percy thanks Rosie for her help on the journey-back, and believes that she’ll work perfectly on the branch-line, with Rosie heartily agreeing, though still questioning on Thomas’ distrust on her.

Passenger Work:

After doing some great work with the goods work, The Fat Controller believes it’s time for Rosie to see how well she can work with passenger trains. With Rosie using spare coaches, she begins to take passengers around the branch-line, with good results from the station-masters.

One day though Daisy was travelling down the line before she began to have some engine problems, making her breakdown in the middle of the line. Rosie was at a nearby station and heard what happened, so she backs her train down to help Daisy, with her being coupled to the last coach. They manage to arrive at the very last station, and Daisy is sent to the works, with Rosie carrying on the passenger duty along with doing Daisy’s work with Toby’s help.

Rosie, Thomas and the Landslide:

A week later Rosie finally wants to know from Thomas, why he doesn’t trust her. Thomas tells her that her siblings replaced his and that she won’t do the same to him before angrily leaving with his passenger train, leaving Rosie dazed and confused.

Cause of a storm during the night, a large landslide begins to fall onto the tracks. Thomas, still angry with Rosie, didn’t notice the landslide until he rounds the corner and crashes right into it making him stuck. In the yard, Rosie was informed of the landslide, but angrily refuses to help Thomas, until her driver reminds her that she does know what happened to both her and his classes, plus the passengers will be angry for a delay.

Rosie quickly arrives as her and Thomas’ crew manages to dig out a path so Rosie can back onto Thomas and helps him carrying on the journey. After silence, Rosie informs Thomas that their classes actually worked alongside each other and were replaced together, Thomas (now guilty for being distrust over nothing) apologies to Rosie. Some days later he and Daisy returned from the works to find Rosie with a new look (painted red, with NWR on her side-tanks and a 12 on her bunker). The Fat Controller informs them all that Rosie now an official member of the railway and the branch-line, Rosie mentions that her new lively goes well with her name, with the others agreeing and are happy with their new colleague and friend.

Well seeing how in the RWS, the engines end in 11. So what's way I gave Rosie the number 12

You know I think this must be the most interesting part of the episode: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbNWrD…  (with how it has two RWS references (one that's not an episode yet))

Oh! I didn't see that. I would have given Emily the Number 12 myself, and Rosie 37 like in the show.

I see, what do you think of the reasoning for Thomas distrusting Rosie?

TobyandMavisforever In reply to FlyGuyRob [2017-10-04 06:11:41 +0000 UTC]

Understandable, given what's going on.

Yep, with the landslide being similar to Rosie's debut episode.

What do you think of the idea of Henry being given returned and reply mail?

Seeing how Henry brings in the mail from the mainland, he would likely be brought mail for the mainland.

mhmm, seeing how that is Thomas, Percy and Oliver's jobs. They would likely drop mail off at Tidmouth for him.

If you look at the picture, you'll know what I mean.

That Edward's berth needs to be repaired? (even though that is where Gordon sleeps)

Yeah, but have you seen 'A Shed For Edward'?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FlyGuyRob In reply to TobyandMavisforever [2017-10-04 07:47:00 +0000 UTC]

Not yet. I'm guess it has something to do with berths.

Good thing it was Edward's one, cause if they kept it as Gordon's then it'll be the frozen turntable all over again.

Perhaps somebody who works in the yard.

TobyandMavisforever In reply to FlyGuyRob [2017-10-04 08:09:06 +0000 UTC]

I did some process elimination and narrowed it down.

- I doubt the Scottish Twins would be there without there being two empty spaces.

- Bill, Ben and Timothy are at the China Clay sheds.

- BoCo, Murdoch, Fergus, Molly, Dennis, Neville, Billy, Hank, Flora, Splatter, Dodge and Lady haven't been seen since the CGI changeover.

- Whiff and Scruff are at the Waste Dump sheds.

- Belle and Flynn are at the Rescue Centre, so that's a no go.

- Phillip has just gotten Edward in his shed.

- Stephen and Glynn are at Ulstead.

- Mavis is down at the quarry.

- Diesel, Arry, Bert, Den, Dart, Paxton, Sidney and Norman are all at the Dieselworks. (I think Diesel 10 is too)

- Daisy and Ryan have their own shed

- Salty and Porter are well content at the docks

- Bash, Dash and Ferdinand have been ignored since season 17.

So, that narrows it down to Toby, Duck, Oliver, Rosie, Stanley & Stafford

Of course, perhaps Rosie (as a way to keep James in line) or Toby as he is part of the Steam Team. Duck and Oliver likely have their own shed which we never seen so far.

TobyandMavisforever In reply to FlyGuyRob [2017-10-04 08:13:48 +0000 UTC]

Makes some form of sense.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FlyGuyRob In reply to TobyandMavisforever [2017-10-04 08:15:52 +0000 UTC]

Also didn't TFC mentioned Knapford Sheds, so most of them could be there.

So that could leave it to either Rosie (to make the match up of colors work well) or Toby, as we don't know where his shed is and Ffarquthar Sheds hasn't been seen since the CGI series.

TobyandMavisforever In reply to FlyGuyRob [2017-10-04 08:17:39 +0000 UTC]

I guess. Or Stafford or Stanley.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FlyGuyRob In reply to TobyandMavisforever [2017-10-04 08:21:05 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps so.

Even noticed that? We never see Ffarquhar Sheds since Season 2 (with only one small appearance in Season 3)

Which is odd, as that's the closest to the branch-line.
