Excellent image. And I agree with you about the importance of the 'Felix Felicis moment', though I had not realized that I did. Strong yet subtle, understated. Again, a very strong image.

That sounds like a great idea! It has the potential to be a very powerful image. I'll be at Infinitus too; I'll definitely see you there!

Pretty good... Just one thing strikes me weird and that's the lack of lashes, even the upper eyelid... It's hard to look at him without staring at the naked edges of the eyelids >w<

Hmm, then maybe what you should do is add short eyelashes, not all flowy, long and thick. Let me find an example:
Not bad for males:

Compare to usual female:

Thank you! Yes, I did actually look at a lot of baroque paintings as part of my research for this painting. I really wanted that baroque look with the dramatic play on lights and darks. Thank you so much!

Thanks so much! Yes, I was going for a very mature-looking Harry. Afterall...he's found out he will either kill or be killed by Voldemort.

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you like it. I think the shadows are my favorite part of it: it's Harry nearing the truth, coming out of the shadows.

I was very impressed by this work. my idea of harry potter is usually too close to the one of the movie (that's because I saw the movies first) but when I saw this i realized it's an original work and I appreciate that. congrats! and I'm happy people watch it thanks to me !

Thank you so much! Yes, my Harry Potter is actually not based on Daniel Radcliffe...but it looks very much like him anyways. When I first saw Sorcerer's Stone, I was amazed by how close Daniel Radcliffe came to *my* vision of Harry Potter...it is really a remarkable likeness, from the one in my head, and the one we see on screen.

Thank you so much! I appreciate that a lot. I think if I drew him too much like Daniel Radcliffe, people will associate Harry with the movies (which, although I love, are still very different from the books), and of course, the actor.

ahhh yes, being Latin and undestanding a lot of it, the actual translation of "Felix Felicis" : lucky, fortunate, happy. Indeed in JK Rowlings context in HBP, this was a lucky potion, but underneath it, is happiness... Feliz=felicidad=Happiness (Spanish).
Ironic like you point out, that this brought his closer to the truth about Lord Voldemort and bringing him face to face with his destiny ... I find that Harry really found the confidence he needed to control his "destiny"...
Yet, I find your illustration quite sad and thoughtfull... like his life ...
Sorry for the rant, but this is my fave book!!

Ahhh, good point, good point. I didn't even think to analyze the actual name of the potion, and I really should have, given that I studied Latin for three years in high school (although I cannot claim I know it very well!)
Yes, I chose to illustrate the foreboding of the potion, the fact that Harry, after taking the potion, will learn the truth of Tom Riddle, and how to defeat him (or be killed by him, as the prophecy suggests).
It is interesting how Harry did not even think to use Felix Felicis to his own ends. There was never quite a point where I remember that Harry thought, "I can use Felix Felicis to do ______." It was Hermione who had to suggest to him to use it. More selfish people would have probably used the potion to gain something for themselves, but Harry uses it to learn about Tom Riddle, and later gives it to his friends so that they would be protected. He says he wanted to save it for "something very important," which is what he did.
Hehehe, I loved HBP, but Deathly Hallows, though sad, was my fave book

I loved the Deathly Hallows too, but the slaughter JKR made was nonsence... to me...
