I remember this like it was yesterday. I live right outside of Worcester, MA and we got hit pretty hard by the storm. And the first time I looked outside, all I saw were the trees covered in ice and broken.
Very nice picture.

I think this would have looked better as a vertical (trees out of the frame are a bit distracting), but other than that little nitpick, this is a fantastic shot. Great work.

Thanks.
I really wanted to capture the scope of the devastation, and would have been forced to narrow it down to one or (maybe) two trees with a vertical shot.
I do have a vertical version of the same one - it doesn't have quite the same effect. I'm not sure whether I even kept it, actually.
Again, thanks.

Follow up: I do still have the vertical ones.
I can post them as scraps, if you'd like.
Let me know.
(I had to narrow it down to one tree or one and a half trees, and it doesn't seem to work as well, for me.)

This is definitely the most striking image in your Ice Storm series. Very other-worldly...

Ah, incredibly eerie photgraph--HIGHLY provocative. And--it hurts the archaeologist's soul to see a graveyard ravaged >_<

Thanks for the comment!
Yeah, it was sad, though. I love that graveyard ... and it was really destroyed.

Oh, I reply to all the comments.
Can't reply to all the favorites though.
And I've never gotten a DD before, so it's kind of fun to see what everyone's saying!

Wow....
It reminds me of '98....
Actually, it also reminds me of last year when one of our windows was nearly smashed in by a falling tree branch.
I love the emotion to it, the stark way that it shows the merciless force of nature.

Beautiful... just the perfect mixture of creepyness of the graveyards and the breathtaking scene of what nature can do!
Amazing...
