Description
This is an extract from my book, The Woodland Whiskers - The Party (Five Mile Press). The publisher wanted a nostalgic, old fashioned styled book that was reminiscent of the classic children's books. I hope I achieved that.This was the very first painting I worked on for the book. Watercolour and bodycolour over ink.

This is very like the kind of picture books that I looked at as a child, it's an enchanting scene. So many little details to keep a child exploring it and I love the way the tree trunk in the background has been used for storage
