Seventh drawing for the challenge is finished, just one more to go!This is a bit simpler than the previous ones but I wanted to do something different, so here's my attempt at taming colored pencils. XD I'm really rusty when dealing with colors but it was a fun experience and I'm thinking about using them more often. ^^
The reference was a screenshot of Gary Numan's eye in the video link of his new song My Name is Ruin, which is pretty awesome too.

I love the pops of color in this, it's really well done!! Like, it's just enough without seeming too overpowering. The longer I looked I saw more, like the flesh tone colors and the pink near the tear duct, like whoa, it's a feast for the eyes (get it? <--Bad pun alert). Seriously, really awesome job!!!

Thanks!! There is this brief shot of Gary's eye at the beggining of the video from "My name is ruin" that just looked so pretty, I thought it was a good way to practice with colors again. X3 I really enjoyed working on this one, shading with colors is so much more difficult but I'm considering trying that on my next dragon. (haha, a feast for the eyes is actually a good pun. )

I was so scared of doing the details and shading with those pencils, especially his eyelashes. At first I considered doing this with a pen but his eye color was so amazing in that screenshot that I just had to try doing something different. I still have to work on that blending though. XD
And I really like Gary's voice, so haunting but so pretty too~ I can't wait to see his new album in September. ^^ (a cool fact is that the girl singing with him in the video is his daughter Persia. ^^)

Blending can be pretty difficult with colour pencils, yeah. xD Since it's not just all grey tones.

And it's not just good for practice but it can also help figure out what colours you wanna use for a drawing.
