Wow, this is amazing, Robert. I always have trouble drawing trees and plants, so it gave me some hints to deal with. Thank you very much for sharing your great artwork!

Trees, like the human body, have anatomy. Here's a good book on that subject:

It's a beautiful drawing. The collateral damage darkens the mood, but that's not at all a negative.
Creased paper is like a warped record. Once it's done, it's done. I did once read and article about a fellow who had a brainstorm in that he tried putting a warped album between two hot mahogany boards, which he then proceeded to put into a vice. And sure enough, after several hours the record was perfectly flat. But the grooves looked like a dying man's EKG. And the sound - when he attempted to play it - was unearthly...

Unearthly indeed.
My old friend Ralph Mayer says about "Repairing Pictures on Paper" (referring to prints, not pencil) to immerse it in water and place it between glass and masonite(?)after blotting excess moisture. Pretty sure I've done that in the past. This drawing is on vellum so it'd be less dangerous I guess than if on drawing paper. Might try it. Next is to remove mold or whatever spots are on some otherwise fine drawings.

I've never tried mold removal before. Let me know how it turns out....

Not well. But careful not to ruin the good in the pictures. So, not bad either.

I am sorry that this picture got damaged but very pleased that you chose to post it anyhow. I really love the dimension and the rolling land, combined with really well drawn trees and grass poking through the snow. It reminds me very much of the countryside here, and the many winter hikes I have taken through fields just like this.

Thank you Warren. Such as it is, yes it's worth showing.
It's good you have flat places up there. But you also have what I dreamed of seeing when I was a boy: mountains.

Ha! Good joke. From where I live all of Indiana north to Chicago is flat. I've heard it said it's much like Holland. South are some hills, not very high, but no mountains.
I never saw a mountain until I was 18. There was a snow-capped mountain far in the distance from where I was in Marine Corps boot camp in San Diego. That mountain was an inspiration to me. I believe it helped me get through boot camp.

Did you ever do a picture with that mountain in it?

No. No cameras allowed in Marine Corps boot camp. Nothing but learning to be the most feared warriors in the world.

It's great, there is definitely a feeling of depths to this picture, like i am really looking into a field. I love the tree in the foreground and despite the creases it still looks really good.

I wish! I did everything to get rid of the creases. From wetting the back of the drawing, placing it on a hard surface covered with paper towels. Put a very thick and heavy glass over that and on top of the glass some stacks of heavy books. Let it set for 15 min. Did it all over again and again and again with new paper towels, until they were dry. It did some good. Before that it was really creased, actually folded.

The detail in this is amazing. I think the creases actually add to it; they make it look kind of surreal.

beautifull shading ! liked the creases on the clouds, the result is a good texturing effect by acident.

Thanks Carlos. It's just too bad it had to happen by accident.
