I ate chicken when I was in this.birdy birdy man (Tibarn cosplay ) at MTAC (flood con)
I had lots of fun running around with my birdy birdy princess (Leanne) 8D It was hard finding a good place to get pictures, so we pulled the staircase plan B source 8DDD
I got to paint on my manry pex this time loooool open shirt binding. One of the judges said she'd Cougar on me if I was a boy xD

and nope! open chest binding doesn't hurt, maybe a bit itchy. Doing it with sports tape(athletic tape) shouldn't be a problem

Tibarn's been one of her favorite characters since forever. You should've heard her fansquee when I said "You have to see this epic cosplayer" XD
The wing tutorial you linked to is excellent. tei needs to get feathers now. But I must say, a makeshift blow torch...I'd have liked to see that XD
Not painful, eh? *begins to ponder* I've heard mixed things about atheltic tape--some say it's great, others say it doesn't stick O.o I guess the only thing I could do to find out would be to try. (The first open-shirt binding tutorial I read said duct tape. You understand why I was under the impression it would hurt like...pick something that hurts a lot XD)

OH GOD NEVER USE DUCT TAPE. My friend did that bc she forgot her ace binding and it left major skin tearing.
Athletics tape works pretty well, it just depends on how well you apply it.
Make shift blow torch is just hair spray and a lighter lol

I was verrrrrry skeptical of the duct tape. Verrrry skeptical. (My roommate essentially told me that she'll only try any sort of binding AFTER I test it XD) I'll have to find some athletic tape and try it. then see if she'll be man enough to try it herself XD XD XD *begins writing a new cosplay shopping list*
Hair spray and a lighter? Sounds like something one of my friends would do XD i, on the other hand, am allergic to hairspray. no makeshift torches for me XD

Haha--I've done regular binding, as Rufus Shinra and Turk Tseng. At this rate, she'd rather do that and just carry the bandages further up Tibarn's chest than attempt anything else. If I can prove it safe, then she'll consider it XD

If you'd asked me last year, it would've been completely fine--I live in the middle of nowhere XD (My town is so small we don't have our own zip code >_> we share with two towns around us
I do apologize for bombarding you with questions, but you're a veritable fountain of cosplay knowledge. How did you do your muscles and scar?

it's all fine! The muscles are just done with different shades of eye-shadow+a little dry acrylic paint+ hairspray or another fixative to keep it on your body. I don't know how to do cool movie effects scars so for the face scar, it's just a line of concealer a little lighter than your own skin tone.

yay more eyeshadow! XD that's how I did my geostigma bruises for Rufus. other than hairspray, what sorts of fixatives would you suggest?
...line of concealer lighter than her skintone...oh boy...XD she's one of the palest people I know XP
I only did a little bit of makeup when I did theatre, but one thing I did learn how to do is bruises. If you can get good-quality theatre makeup (we used Ben Nye) and some makeup sponges, the rest comes surprisngly easily.
