Join-up in the indoor arena

"Salvo, come on!" Ellie shouted, raising her arms. She was driving the stallion around in circles, choosing to follow a training schedule. Today was join-up day and she had a lot of work to do with Salvo, he hadn't been ridden in some time, which made him a challenge. The black haired girl turned her blue eyes toward the stallion's ears, driving him in circles around her shouting noises at him to keep him moving. She looked at the way he moved, observed the muscle movement.
Salvo began to slow down and walked along the wall of the indoors riding school, pacing himself to cool off before he stopped, turning his head toward the trainer.Ellie turned her back on Salvo, walking a few paces away and stood still, listening for the sound of the Traaker stallion walking toward her. Salvo snorted softly and breathed deep as he headed for Ellie, coming to a halt by her shoulder, hanging his head over her shoulder.
“Good boy!” Ellie laughed, patting his nose. She lifted her arms, putting Salvo’s black headcollar on, clipping the leadrope under his chin and headed for the doors out of the arena. She walked him across the yard toward the dressage stables, pushing the heavy door open along the slider and leading him down the smooth tiled floor towards his stall. She led him into his stall and took off both his headcollar and leadrope.
Ellie walked out of his stable, standing in the doorway as she lifted her arm hanging them up on the hook on the wall panel where he could not reach. She then grabbed his rug from the rug rack and hung it over the gap in the sliding door, closing it and walking down the aisle again to get a bucket and sponge to cool Salvo off.
Salvo poked his head out through the gap in the iron bars of his sliding door, watching as his trainer came back down the aisle with a bucket and sponge, taking a few steps back when she asked him to. He felt the wet sponge brush over his body as Ellie washed him off gentle and then felt the weight of his stable rug being slung over his back and being fastened.
“Good boy, be well behaved.” She smiled, rubbing his neck softly and she kissed the stallions nose, walking away to continue her job.
