This took long, however it was not just for InkTober.
I am entering a flora & fauna competition and decided on peacocks and peonies. Normally I don't really use the comment section a lot but I thought that I would elaborate a bit more on this piece as you have all been so supportive and kind since I joined.

This is drawn the same way my mom used to draw when she was younger. She thought me crosshatching and how to make intricate designs.
Sadly she passed away in 2015, leaving an emptiness behind that was beyond imaginable.

She liked peonies and ivy.

I never understood why. Both seem incredibly underwhelming.
Peonies looked like dusty paleis lollipops in my opinion and when they finally bloomed they looked very dull and plain. Why have peonies when there are colourful flowers like tulips and orchids right? Or even better: PEACOCKS! (I thought they were magical when I was a kid)

Now I am older and I can appreciate peonies immensly. They may not ask for a lot of attention, but I miss having them in the house after coming home from a busy work day.
It is kinda like the same kid that you always see on your bus to school, the old man that always sits on the same bench in the park at the same days or the lady that you always see at the store. You don't know who they are, but you miss them when they are not there.

Surrounded by loudness, colours, boldness they stand out, like a perfect balance.

Like Flora and Fauna,
