This picture really brings out Raphael's inner turmoil. In the old Eastman and Laird books, Rahpael was the most conflicted, often quarreling with Leonardo. This picture does a great job of visually expressing the rage that Raphael had inside of him.

I apologize, but he looks more like an offspring of Godzilla with a mask. Also turtles have horned beaks... Not teeth.
Now that that is out of the system, the effects are very cool! The shading is fantastic! The texture of his skin, the steamy look about him, and the liquid seeping from the corner of the mouth are amazingly well done!

It's the TMNT nightmare style. I always thought the turtles were a little "Goody Two Shoes" looking. I guess for the kiddies they had to be. This is the Raphael for adults. Cool drawing.
