Genetic modification can create a number of different and sometimes beneficial new living creatures. However there is more often the opportunity for something unexpected to occur in the process.

For this particular creature I combined a woman with jellyfish and a giant squid. The reasoning for this is because seeing as the Earth is covered about 70% by water, and overpopulation is an issue in many parts of the world, I think the ocean is the next step in colonization. This creature, 'Siren', would either be useful as a defender underwater, or possibly even used as labor. Even with the frail body of the jellyfish, the tendrils with the squid club arms would be strong enough for it to attach itself to surfaces and work with the human arms. However, regardless of it's intended purpose, what it has become is a predator under the sea. A creature capable of human thought mixed with the cunning, and quickness of the squid and the deadly beauty, grace and venom of a jellyfish.
