That's gorgeous! I recognized the Kirby Krunch before reading description- he always did such good tackling/slamming-into-things poses.

I love it that guys like you are still drawing with pencil and ink and making a mess in the best possible way. It was fun seeing some of your original art for BPRD at ECCC and seeing all the texture of white out and cut outs. Made me appreciate the amount of work that goes into each page that maybe doesn't show up in the final printed book. I never went to art school, so my technical abilities as an artist are limited and I've found drawing digitally with a tablet has been really liberating. I can work faster and still experiment with style without wasting paper.Β But I'd like to learn to do this someday, after I've caught up a bit on my story telling chops.

I really enjoy how the use of line placement, the broken glass, and the soldiers body makes this piece very kinetic. Awesome.

...loving how the spatter accents push beyond the dynamics of the gorgeous linework & absolutely boggled by your use of screentones - truly bends my mind! ...all the energy you bring to your scenes in Rumble/BPRD/Conan/etc. is so fresh & always just as fun after every rereading... (& finally got around to checking out the Deadpool vs. Hawkeye books & those covers were quite amusing to say the very least...) - much respect & appreciation! James, you definitely set the bar in terms of what i look for in a book... Β
