I think it was more than an act for Kylo. I think it was actually real. He made his choice...and then we see this again AFTER his decision is made.
Remember folks, Starkiller base got taken down AFTER an implied point of no return too, and we got a *living* star...

I agree entirely! His frustration and inner conflict is what makes this character so appealing. Unstable and ambiguous. In all honesty I can't deny I am hoping
for a redemption arc deep down but I will accept it if they take a self destructive, tragic route with him too because I think that Driver would totally kill that.

I definitely agree Driver would do well with it. I just hope that's not what would happen though. Even the opening line of the movie...it's about making things right (repair) rather than revenge or "taking back what's ours."
