Surprise!
Here is another wonderful commission, this time from Bonnie Duritsky!
-------------------------------------------------------------
In the blistering heat, we drove through the Canyons of Hoenn' northern desert plains.
I had been invited to come and see a rare but beautiful Pokemon that made its home high atop the dry sandy cliffs. My guide was kind-hearted research named Bonnie who had spent the last year studying the animals and knew exactly where to find them.
We pulled up into a sheltered cave where her team had made base. The cool shade was a welcome exchange from the beating sun. We grabbed our hiking gear and attached ourselves to ropes that were tethered to secure points up the slope.
We climbed for around half an hour until we reached the summit that overlooked the golden canyons that spread for miles in all directions. Within minutes, Bonnie was gesturing me to get low and passed me a set of binoculars. She pointed to a cliff edge across from ours and I focused the lenses. Suddenly a flash of green shot past my sight.
I finally locked eyes on it as it glided down and landed in a cloud of dust... a Flygon!
These beautiful dragons have been speculated for many years as their pre-evolutions has distinct characteristics of insects and have been the focus of many debates over whether they are reptiles or insects. The current theory is they are an ancient offshoot of both, keeping traits from eons ago. New research also suggests their DNA leans closely to species like Scyther. Their long antenna-like horns have now been found to create echolocation, helping them hunt down prey in dust storms and the dark desert nights.
Though they have wings, they cannot use powered flight and use them to glide from cliff to cliff in search of nourishment and mates.
As I watched it stretch out its leathery wings, I almost missed the other glide past. It was truly a beautiful sight, one not many have the pleasure to see. The second Flygon made its way to the first and settled next to it. They rubbed their necks together and even from our distance we could hear delicate clicking and hissing. They must be a mated pair.
We watched them for around an hour before they took flight and disappeared over the next ridge.

A huge thank you to Bonnie for Commissioning this wonderful picture of Flygon. It was such fun to make!
To confirm, I only do Pokemon outside of the first 151 if they are commissioned and will be continuing with the first-gen as normal.Β
Don't forget, with $10 per month you can be part of the discord server! There already a few people there and we've all enjoyed having a chat and talking about Pokemon. They even helped me with ideas for this picture and have submitted questions for me to answer on my Podcast!
If you would like a commission, I am doing them via my Patreon for $1000 per design. Check it out

It just became beautiful. PokΓ©mon integrate better and better into the real world, it is almost scary what some can create artistically. Good work.

i like that you included hard scale palattes on the sides of their legs. it makes the mind wonder what caused it to develop that way. maybe mates fighting, hard hits to the flank that would otherwise cripple them due to how small those legs are, those who developed the hard scales would more often win.
good work...
