That's so cool! Say, I've been wondering, how long did it take you to learn to do this stuff? I've been thinking of taking a course in special effects prosthetics myself, but it's only a year long and I'm not sure I could learn it all in one year. Were you able to?

Thanks!
I'd be careful taking courses. Most of those are just to take your money and put you severely in debt.
I learned everything I know on my own. Not in a year though.
You have the advantage of the internet I didn't have. There's this place [link] as well as many other sculpting forums.
My advice is to get some sculpting books and videos these are the best IMO

Books and videos can be expensive but nowhere as expensive as a school. I know people that went to school for this almost 20 years ago and are still paying for it.

Thanks a bunch for the advice on links! Yeah, I'm having mixed results with courses. I'm currently taking a general fine art course, but I find I learn more from going to students taking the animation or illustration courses and asking for critique than I do from the actual course. In class I virtually learn nothing. I've gotten alot better at drawing for instance since I take my drawings to students in more advanced courses and ask them what I'm donig wrong, but I don't have time to do that for stuff like painting and I've found that I've learned nothing about painting despite having spent three semesters studying it. I would probably be the same deal if I took a SPFX course.

Your welcome for the advice. Some things you learn in school may still apply later on when you'd least expect it. I just wouldn't take some big expensive FX course.
