Description
This story took place about 18 years ago, when Curry was almost 3 years old.

Mom and Dad were at the hospital having Baby Sage, so Nana and Baba were watching the kids. As much as they wish they could be there with their daughter, the hospital only allows one other person in the delivery room apart from the second parent, and Grandma Bunny was usually the other support person while Nana and Baba watched the other kids. They love spending time with their grandbunnies, so they were happy to at least be able to help their daughter this way.

Nana and Baba decided to set some art supplies on the table in the basement play room for the kids, so they could make some nice pictures and cards to welcome the new baby home. There were crayons, markers, pencils, glitter glue and finger paints. Soon, all of the kids were at the table making a picture. The older ones made cards and wrote little messages welcoming their new baby sister, and the little ones just enjoyed making colourful, pretty pictures.

At one point, Baba went upstairs to start making dinner, and Nana stayed with the kids. As she was reading the little messages the older kids had written on their cards, she didn't notice Little Curry carry a jar of green finger paint over to the bare wall and start painting.

It was only until the wall was already painted green when Nana finally noticed.

NANA: No, no, no, Curry. We don't paint on the wall.

Curry could tell by Nana's voice that he was doing something he wasn't supposed to.

CURRY: Uh oh. Sorry, Nana.
NANA: Oh dear. Come on, you're gonna help Nana clean up this- Oh.. my.. goodness!

Because Nana was so focused on Curry having painted on the wall, it took a minute for Nana to notice just WHAT he had painted on the wall. Nana had taken algebra in school, so she recognized the equation that her almost 3-year-old grandson had written with his finger.

NANA: Curry, how did you do this? I didn't learn how to do something this advanced until I was nearly grown!
CURRY: I saw it in Rose's math book. I remembered it.
NANA: You memorized this? Amazing! I need to take a picture of it!

So Nana went upstairs to grab a camera, while Curry just stood there, a bit confused. When Nana came back with a spare disposable camera, she took a picture of the wall, but Curry was still confused.

CURRY: Am I in trouble, Nana?
NANA: Hmm, you know, dear. I don't know anymore.
CURRY: Huh?
NANA: Well, the equation is good, amazing even, but getting paint on the wall is not allowed. So you'll have to help clean this up, but afterwards, you can do this on the paper, because paint goes on paper, not on the wall. Understand?
CURRY: Yes, Nana!
NANA: Good boy.

So Nana got some rag and a bucket of soapy water, and had Curry help her wipe up the paint on the wall. Then once it was clean, she brought him back to the table so he could paint his equations on a piece of paper, where paint is supposed to go.

Baba didn't believe Nana when she told him what happened until after the photos were developed. She also told the story to Mom and Dad once the baby was born while everyone showed off their creations. Luckily, Curry hasn't painted on the wall since, but he still likes doing equations on paper. It's a funny story that the family looks back on in fondness.
