Ahhh, I love the comparison of this one as well. Ariel looks so gorgeous in your current style, I really like how you designed her form and the background with its warm sea-like colors is so comforting and gentle. I still like the innocence of your original sketch however, everyone has to start somewhere after all.

Well, maybe I just have very low standards since I cannot draw to save my life :') Anyway, I don't know how old he is now, he could've been anywhere between 6 and 11-12. I agree that it would not be that impressive at 11, but maybe more if he was younger than 7... but I think the spotlight here goes to his improvements throughout the years, which is undeniable
