Description She lost her husband, her lover, and her young son to the beast during the war.
Burdened to forever guard the remaints of the beast, what she hast learnt to hate and yet still loves.
She remembers very little of what or who she was before the beast, feelings of longing allow her to realise she has lost something, though not what.
Alone she is.
-------
If that didn't make much sense, it is because it is full of meaning.
like I'd be sad if I'd lost those I love, then forgot everything, and yet still had stuff around me as a reminder that I had lost something.

The white amsk is the memories of hers and the rest of her body that couldn't be saved from Xiro's power.

I think out of All of my XM characters, Miz has to be the one who has had the most difficult of a life.
(those of you who read all of my discriptions and follow my characters will know what I mean)

(And it is sposed to be ash falling, not snow...)

Before all this Mizgarth was such a beautiful being. The definition of grace. Now when she turned into an amsk she was still such a beautiful creature. Now being what she is, the floating being, she still hold such beauty but in a different way.

She proves that behind everything beautiful, there are ugly things

This is beautiful. I've been watching several of your pics and got fascinated with your avians and their stories. Mizgarth is one of my favourite characters... Her particular story is so sad... It makes me very curious about the whole story.

Can I draw some fanart of her or other avians? They're such fantastic creatures...

Also, I'm faving^^ The pic is great!

Is there a place where we can read this story? (forgive me if I'm asking a stupid question.)
The bits and pieces you always have with the story discriptions are so intriguing and yet I'm so confused as to what's really going on. I want to learn more!
This is such a beautiful piece of work. You've really succeeded in capturing the pain of loss in Miz's expression.

I absolutely adore all of your artwork, this is so amazing, all the detail and the fact that you can use colors that can create so much beauty when a lot of the time the color can only be sad and depressing. I love your artwork, I just can't stress enough just how beautiful it is.

you really have done an excelent job as always in colouring and composting this. love the lighting etc, and the ash was a nice idea. fits in with the idea of death keep at it!

Great.
The coloring is special, and I like how they look malign/wild/potentially bestial and cruel, yet they hold deep emotion for each other.

So very symbolically empathic. Poor thing. ;_;

A wonderful vignette. For the ash, I might suggest a warmer color and much harder edges to help it look less like snow.

It's strange how often sad and beautiful coincide. Lovely art work. Is there a place where I can read about your characters? They're all so fascinating

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

kat-najera [2007-07-06 19:16:00 +0000 UTC]

I've always had trouble drawing characters with two sets of horns. You seemed to pull it off quite easily.

Aside from the sadden theme in this drawing, I do think you did a amazing work on it. The coloring makes the piece stand out the most.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kilara In reply to kat-najera [2007-07-06 20:11:43 +0000 UTC]

For adding multiple sets of horns onto a character, I find it always works well when you have them come from the "brow" area of the skull. I think it is because that is the strongest part of the skull, and most likely able to support the weight of horns. and if the horns are too thick to fit more then one on the brow, then I put them in a crown like formation.

I hope that helps some ^^

kat-najera In reply to kilara [2007-07-06 20:17:43 +0000 UTC]

Actually, it does help out quite a bit! Though admittedly I might be tempted to defy the support rule and put them elsewhere. Mwahaha. But thanks a bunch.
