"Batman, Batman, Bruce…" Superman didn't shake, at least not usually, yet here he was. The usually composed and powerful man was shaking like a leaf. Bruce, also known as "The Batman," looked at the man before him with a slightly unnerved look. It had to be bad to shake The Man of Steel.

"Clark, usually you return the baby after saving it. That's how it goes: you save it, you give it to its mother," Bruce said calmly as he looked at the baby in Clark's arms.

"This baby—it—I—clone." Superman was babbling, not making any sense at all. Bruce's brows furrowed, he was confused, and he didn't like it.

"Clone? What are you going on about Clark?" Bruce snapped his tone rough and filled with agitation. He didn't even have time to protest before he had an arm full of baby. Bruce tensed. It wasn't that Bruce didn't know how to deal with kids, he usually had a little "Boy Wonder" following him around. Kids were different then babies though, less fragile. Bruce held the child awkwardly and was suddenly glad they were on the roof of a high building in the middle of the night. Batman holding a baby, his reputation would be shattered.

"It's—a—CLONE!" Superman said, his voice rising with each word. Batman looked down at the baby. Bright blue eyes that could rival Clark's own stared back at him, wide and filled with wonder, Bruce chuckled as tiny hands reached up for him. He lifted his hand and allowed those tiny hands to wrap around his index finger. Those tiny hands squeezed. At first it was endearing, then a bit odd, and then it began to hurt. It clicked.

"Of you." Bruce said in a soft tone. His gaze lifted to look at Clark. "He's a clone of you." Clark was staring at him, the baby was still squeezing his finger but the pain was minimal and could be ignored. The look in Clark's eyes unnerved him, it was wondering, almost like how the baby looked at him. "What do you want to do with him?" Bruce asked, looking back down at the blue eyed boy in his arms.

"I wanted to get rid of him, get him as far away from me as possible…it's weird; he's a copy of me." Clark said, he sounded guilty as he should. Bruce looked at the man shock evident on his face if not for the cowl that covered his eyes. "But now—seeing you hold it-"

"Him." Bruce said tersely.

"Him…." Clark said, looking up. His eyes were warm and hopeful; Bruce felt his skin crawl with the look.

"What Clark?" Bruce asked his tone harsh. Clark's eyes widened and he shook his head, the look was gone.

"I—would you help me?" Bruce's brows furrowed, there Clark went again not making sense.

"Help you what Clark? Would it kill you to make full sentences?" Bruce was growing impatient. Clark flushed.

"Help me raise him—you're good with kids…" Bruce's eyes widened at the request.

"Not here Clark; we're not talking about this here." Bruce said shortly. "Take me home." Clark looked at him with curiosity in his eyes and then he was moving. They were in the air in less than a minute. He was cradled in Clark's arms, the baby cradled in his; he noticed that the baby was asleep.

"He's cute…" Clark suddenly said as they flew high above Gotham, Bruce felt his voice right in his ear. He suppressed a shiver.

"A bit cocky of you don't you think Clark? I thought you were modest." Bruce said, his tone teasing. The baby was after all a clone of Clark.

"He doesn't look exactly like me." Clark said with a shrug. "Luther said there was a bit of another person in him. He didn't tell me who and I was so shocked to see him that I didn't even think to ask." Bruce looked up just as Clark looked down, their noses touched. Bruce leaned back but otherwise was unfazed. Clark though; blushed. Bruce's gaze returned to the baby.

"I wonder who the other person is." He said idly, "I'll run a D.N.A test once we get to the cave." Bruce said. Clark made a soft noise of understanding and then—there was silence.
