There was nothing inherently wrong with Concrete's design. It was in black and white. If that's all it takes to send imaginations soaring, then we need to take a step back and really start figuring out just what brings everything back to race and oppression in our minds. Which we do. I can't stand people who get offended over nothing.Β
But yeah. Concrete was cute. She doesn't deserve to be omitted from future publishings.

I find it funny how people want to scream racism because of her appearance, but isn't judging her appearance to be racist kind of racist within itself? I mean, you're essentially saying there is a certain way someone should look and this isn't it, but Concrete is so adorable and I love how you captured that! I like to imagine she's a fusion of three Hematite and even though she isn't canon I feel as though she should be seen as a work-in progress rather than the final draft since her page was hurried along.

her page came with her sketch and some traits beside it, people were complaining about her skin tone being too dark and lips too white resembling a racist caricature from the 80s shows, one of her traits said she couldn't read so people started swearing the show for it
