WIP 1 / 4- This is part of a bigger project (started in september 2016)Watercolor and fine marker for the caterpillar and background. Fountain pen with brown ink for the branch
I wanted to draw the butterfly and I had no idea what the larvae looked like. I discovered the larvae is a beautiful a colorful one !
This is an entry to the Aquachallenge of Spring ! Illustrating the awakening and re-birth, I this a larvae is one perfect illustration of this new burst of life every year

Surprisingly, not really, the hair were the final touch, I did them with a micron pen.
But the white spot took me YEARS, because they're not spots, they're areas I left blank. I tried to reproduce the spots on the original, without tracing, no it was kind of a nightmare, all I was seeing was :
But it was worth the time !
