It's kind of ironic that the real life version of Xerxes looked like the 300 version of Leonidas.

This is the Real Xerxes....
Frank Miller produced him
as an Androgynous Freak and so
was Santoro in the movie .....

This is how he
looks from old scriptures
and scuptures of ancient
Persia......

I know the West (Good)
vs East (Bad) philosophy
present in Hollywood but
even if they have to portray
him as evil....he could have
well stayed as a man rather
than an outworldly freak....

Remember the old movie
"300 Spartans (1962)",
though evil, he was realistic,
portrayed by David Farrar

Awesome work.

Unlike some comic book gone movie I know of.<.< Oh well what you gonna do. Hollywood makes all sorts of movies 70 percent innaccurate when based on history. I remember seeing a commercial for another comic book movie about Vikings finding America and killing Native Americans.

That absolutly did not happen. Some Vikings did accidently find America, but the spot that they landed on was too cold to survive. There wasn't even any Native Americans/Turtle Islanders living there because of the harsh climate. The Vikings that landed there just ended up dieing, not attacking villages.

Well you're 50/50 there, Vinland, wich is how Leif Eriksson named the land where the vikings arrived (now Terranova, Canada) was inhabited by amerindians, and rough ones for it was the vikings who where kicked away by their agression and much greater number.

Also, as much as i love history, Rodrigo Santoro in his representation of JerJes, looks much more to me like someone i'd call "Man-God" than the real ugly, overadorned and hairy chubb Xerxes was.
Maybe if he had been designed by Miller wearing Indo-Persian clothing and with the habitual egyptian ceremonial beard, it'd been a good point between reality and much more liked make-believe.

Well it's good to know someone such as yourself to help broaden my knowledge. The part where you mentioned Xerxes made me laugh out loud.
