I've actually never read any Lovecraft, I've seen enough Cthulu art to get a general idea of what it looks like but I'm not really a big reader of fiction.

Not that there's anything wrong with criticism. I'm just curious because I didn't notice anything off with the hands. Can you please elaborate?

ya sure. compared with rest of the figure the hands are often less solidly modeled. I mean, his gradients are amazing, the firstΒ pic I saw made me gasp with its sculptural quality (I learnt a lot just studying his drawings). but compared to that the hands seem quite flat and more carelessly made. I dunno how to explain it more clearly...I guess you'll have to watch closely.

I think I see what you mean. Aside from the fact that they always look quite similar (long and boney), they also seem less finished than the rest of the body and not as polished. However, I didn't notice anything anatomically wrong with them, I actually like the wicked looking gestures they make.

This reminds me of a scary version of a creature from Oddworld (my favourite video game series).
And of course, unsurprisingly, Lovecraft isn't too far away. I initially thought your Black Lagoon creature was a revision of Lovecraft's Dagon.
All of these drawings make me want to ditch the tablet currently in front of me and pull out my pencils!
